Blitzstein, Marc
(2 mar. 1905, Filadelfia, Pa., EE.UU.–22 ene. 1964, Fort-de-France, Martinica).

Compositor estadounidense. Estudió en el Curtis Institute, después en París con la directora de orquesta Nadia Boulanger y en Berlín con el compositor Arnold Schönberg. Sus obras más conocidas las realizó para obras de teatro: The Cradle Will Rock (1937), producida por Orson Welles y John Houseman en circunstancias que llegaron a ser legendarias; la ópera Regina (1949); y su adaptación al inglés de La ópera de tres centavos (1952), de Bertolt Brecht y Kurt Weill, que triunfó en Broadway. Murió asesinado mientras trabajaba en una ópera encargada por el Metropolitan Opera sobre el caso Sacco y Vanzetti.
